Men do Pilates

While women tend to dominate mat classes, Pilates holds plenty of benefits for men who rise to the challenge yes, it’s hard. Whether you’re a powerlifter or prepping for your first marathon, pilates class can help fine-tune your performance. Exercises are made up of subtle, concentrated movements that can help you do the following:

1. Develop neglected muscle groups. Some of your muscles, like those that dominate your daily movements, are stronger than others, Pilates is focusing on those muscles that don’t typically get a lot of attention. Pilates is similar to MAT training in that you consciously move in certain ways to build muscles that you don’t hit while lifting. Think of it this way “rather a bulked up fat muscle from end to end have a muscle that tapers from end to end which will look aesthetically enhancing the muscle”.

2. Improve flexibility. In general, the more muscle mass you have the less flexible you are. Pilates focus on stretching; therefore helps to prevent injuries and muscle strains, and increases range of motion. And will lengthen your muscle from each end, therefore, extending the muscle to a refined finish.

3. Build core strength. Pilates also hits your transverse abdominals, the base ab muscle under your six-pack.
The Core: The transverse abdominal muscle is the key to a slimmer waist, the deepest thin layer of muscles from mid to lower torso wraps around as a girdle used correctly it will flatten your stomach. A strong core is the foundation of movement. Pilates has a significant focus on the transverse abdominal supports the spine, in particular, the lower back.

4. Live more consciously. Pilates forces you to pay attention, you’ve got to focus on your breath while working through each movement and concentrating on proper form. After a Pilates session, you’ll feel refreshed and relaxed, which can even carry over into the next day.

5. Have better sex. When I teach men’s pilates, I focus on strengthening the core and the pelvic floor, and men who practice it have greater control of this region of the body need I say more? Detailed and practice is more explained as a male instructor teaching a male class we can feel more relaxed in this area!
